Bengaluru: Striking a balance between two dominant castes Lingayat and Vokkaliga, the BJP has appointed Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje as chairman and convenor of the party’s election campaign and management committees, respectively.
The appointments were made by National BJP President JP Nadda on Friday ahead of assembly elections this year.
Other BJP leaders and union ministers from Karnataka including former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa have been appointed as members of the election campaign committee.
Some others also have been appointed as members on both the committees.
