Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state General Secretary Ahok Koul on Thursday said the party is fully prepared to contest polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Koul was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the BJP’s 44th foundation day function in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“Whenever the Election Commission of India will announce the date BJP is fully prepared and will contest the polls in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Regarding the recent purported threats to workers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in J&K by “The Resistance Front (TRF)” which police believe is an offshoot of Lashker-e-Taiba, Koul said that such threats often come.
“It is their work and they will remain doing it. We are not afraid of anyone…let the TRF continue their threats,” he said.
The BJP leader said that the BJP’s foundation day was celebrated today in about 300 places all across the Kashmir valley.
