BJP replaces 100 sitting MPs with new faces, fearing defeat in election: DK Shivakumar

Thiruvananthapuram: The replacement of 100 sitting MPs with new faces by the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections shows that the saffron party is not strong enough to fight with the INDIA bloc, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the Congress leader said there is no wave of support for the BJP or Modi in the country.

The replacement of a large number of sitting MPs with new faces shows that the BJP was not ready to face the elections with the sitting MPs, he added.

The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister was in the capital city to attend an election rally as part of the party’s campaign for UDF candidate Dr Shashi Tharoor.

Claiming that the INDIA block will form the government at the center, he thanked people in Kerala for supporting Rahil Gandhi in Wayanad.
