BSF downs Pakistani drone in Amritsar, narcotics recovered

Amritsar: The Border Security Force has shot down a Pakistani drone in the Amritsar sector of Punjab.

BSF Public Relations Officer said here on Tuesday that on Monday at about 8.27 pm, alert BSF troops of 183 Bn BSF deployed at border heard a buzzing sound of suspected drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area falling near Chhana village.

As per drill, the troops tried to intercept the suspected drone by firing.

Bullet hit the drone and it fell on the ground. The whole area was cordoned off and police and other concerned agencies were informed.

During the preliminary search, the BSF party recovered a quadcopter (Make – DJI matrices) and suspected narcotics (about 2.5 kg) wrapped in a polybag, the official said.

Detail search of the area was also carried out.
