Cybercrime branch of Police begins probe into alleged hacking of live streaming of hearing of Calcutta HC

Kolkata: The cybercrime branch of the city police has launched an investigation into an alleged hacking of live-streaming of one of the courtrooms of Calcutta High Court’s vacation bench on YouTube, court sources said on Tuesday.

Kolkata Police swung into action after Calcutta High Court’s IT department on Monday evening lodged a complaint in this connection,

Live streaming of a case at the Calcutta High Court on Monday, was abruptly interrupted due to the display of disturbing photos and videos during the virtual hearing, which was being held on Zoom.

Justice Subhendu Samanta was holding a vacation bench when the alleged photos and videos were displayed during the hearing of the case.

Sources said while the sudden interruption could not be immediately rectified, the live stream was stopped and restarted on a fresh link in the single judge bench .
