Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the essence of India’s democracy and constitutional integrity is at stake under BJP’s regime because the autonomous entities, including ED and CBI, seem to function as extensions of the BJP.

“The relentless ED raids on opposition leaders over the last decade reveal a stark reality: CBI, IT, and ED are no longer autonomous entities but seem to function as extensions of the @BJP4India,” he said taking to X.

“The battle for the opposition extends beyond the ballot box, confronting the misuse of state machinery. The essence of our democracy and constitutional integrity is at stake under BJP’s regime,” CM Siddaramaiah said.

These comments were made in the backdrop of Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land fraud after he resigned as Jharkhand Chief Minister.
