DGP Dilbagh Singh visits Rajouri chairs joint meeting of officers.

Srinagar : Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh chaired a joint meeting of officers of Police, Army and CRPF to review the security scenario of Rajouri Poonch Range during his visit to the border district Rajouri. He was accompanied by the ADGP Jammu Zone Shri Mukesh Singh.

The meeting was also attended by the GOC 25 Infantry Division Shri Y. S. Ahlawat, GOC Romeo Force Shri Mohit Trivedi, DIG Rajouri Poonch Range Dr Mohammed Haseeb Mughal, SSP Rajouri Shri Mohammad Aslam, SSP Poonch Shri Rohit Baskotra, CO IRP 2nd Bn Shri Randeep Kumar, 2 I/C 72 Bn CRPF Shri Ram Meena, ASP Rajouri, ASP Nowshera, officers of CRPF and other jurisdictional gazetted officers of the district.

DGP appreciated the synergy between the forces besides Intelligence agencies that have marred many evil intentions of Pakistan and its terror agencies regularly. He stressed for further strengthening the intelligence network at the grass root level of all forces. He enjoined upon the officers to put in more efforts to track down the culprits of Dangri incident. He directed for alertness on borders as also in hinterland. He emphasized on using the border SPOs for creating a strong border intelligence network besides utilizing the services of VDGs more efficiently and in an organized way.

DGP said that Pakistan is using all methods to involve our youth in the drug menace and added that regular seizure of various consignments of narcotics has spoiled their evil intentions. He said that stern actions and synchronized efforts of all forces will definitely demolish the whole network of drug trade. He emphasized on strengthening of Naka points on national highways to keep check on transportation of drugs, weapons and other criminal activities.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the infiltration bids of terrorists, supply of weapons and narcotics from across the border besides other issues of security concerns. It was pointed out that Pak agencies are indulging in narcotics and weapon smuggling besides transportation of cash across the LoC for funding terrorist activities. Many of such consignments have been interrupted by JKP and the security forces deployed in the area. The need and means to further augment the border & hinterland security grids were also discussed.

On the onset of the meeting, the officers of the twin border districts briefed DGP about the present security scenario along the LoC and in the hinterlands besides they presented detailed briefing about ongoing anti-terror operations and security grid deployed post Dhangri incident.
