DRI sleuths seize gold worth Rs 1.32 cr from passenger at Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad: Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad have seized 2.314 kgs of Gold, worth Rs 1.32 crore at Secunderabad Railway Station.

Acting on specific intelligence, officers of DRI Hyderabad intercepted one person travelling from Kolkata by Falaknuma Express at Secunderabad Railway Station on Wednesday.

Investigation resulted in seizure of smuggled gold bars, totaling 2.314 kgs (99.9 purity 24 Carat) valued at Rs. 1.32 crore, a DRI release said on Saturday.

The intercepted person had purchased the smuggled gold from Kolkata.

He had been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

Further investigation is in progress, the release added.
