EAM holds talks with counterparts from several nations in New York

New York/New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his counterparts from several countries including Guyana, Cyprus, Moldova, Bolivia as well as the EU Commissioner on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York.

On his meeting with the FM of Guyana, Hugh Hilton Todd, the EAM posted on X that the bilateral partnership has been progressing on all fronts.

“A pleasure as always meeting FM Hugh Hilton Todd of Guyana today on the sidelines of #UNGA79.

“Our bilateral partnership has been steadily progressing in various dimensions. Look forward to its further growth.”

On his meeting with the Cyprus FM Constantinos Kombos, he said the two focused on the ongoing Middle East conflict and their larger implications, as well as on bilateral relations.

“A good conversation with FM @ckombos from Cyprus on sidelines of #UNGA79 today.

“We focussed on ongoing developments in West Asia and their larger implications. Also discussed taking our bilateral cooperation forward.”

He also spoke with FM Mihai Popsoi of Moldova, during which they discussed the Ukraine conflict, besides areas of cooperation in bilateral ties.

“Appreciate meeting FM @MihaiPopsoi of Moldova today.

“Discussed the potential for cooperation in investment, education and tourism. Also exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict.”

On his meeting with the EU Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra, he said that he appreciates the latter’s support for deepening the India-EU partnership.

“Always good to see dear friend and EU Commissioner @WBHoekstra, this time on the sidelines of #UNGA79.

“Appreciate his support for deepening India-EU partnership.”

He also met with FM Celina of Bolivia, and spoke about advancing the bilateral cooperation.

“Happy to meet FM @CelindaBolivia in New York today.

“Spoke about advancing our bilateral cooperation.”
