ED raids Hasan Mushrif’s residence at Kagal

Mumbai: ED officials on Saturday raided the Kagal residence of NCP MLA and former minister Hasan Mushrif.

This is the third consecutive raid at the house by the ED in two months. ED officials, who came in five cars, entered Mushrif’s house at 7 am this morning. Former Labor Minister MLA Hasan Mushrif has come under ED’s radar for the third time in two months, sources said. Now once again ED is raiding Mushrif’s house in Kolhapur.

In connection with sugar factories, ED is conducting a search operation in Kolhapur and Pune.

Mushrif is being investigated by ED in the case of alleged embezzlement of 40 crores of General Staff Santaji Ghorpade factory. The some accounts of Kolhapur District Bank are also being investigated, said sources.

Meanwhile, supporters of Hasan Mushrif’s have gathered. All the workers have gathered outside the House in support of Mushrif. The supporters said that a person working for the public is being harassed unnessecarily. Mushrif was not in the house when the ED officials started raiding the house, family of Mushrif said.

Mushrif has been on the ED’s radar for the past two months following the allegations leveled by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. Earlier on January 11, ED raided, 21 days later, the ED raided the headquarters of Kolhapur District Central Bank where he was the chairman. Again raid was carried

on Senapashi Kapshi in Kagal taluk and Harli branch in Garhinglaj taluk.

The ED has registered a case against Hasan Mushrif in money laundering case of Rs 35 crore. A case of fraud has also been registered in Murgud police station against him. Mushrif had approached the Bombay High Court and filed a petition to quash the offence which is still pending in court.
