Engine, 2 coaches of freight train derail in Sonbhadra

Sonbhadra (UP): Engine and two bogies of a freight train derailed 300 meters before Duddhi railway station on Chopan-Garwah section in Sonbhadra district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, railway sources said here.

Railway sources said that the incident took place when the freight train loaded with dolomite was coming to Duddhi from Jharkhand. “When the train reached the yard it’s engine and two boggies derailed at the changing point,” they said.

Sources said that Station Master Shailesh Kumar immediately informed the divisional officers at Dhanbad along with station masters of Chopan and Renukoot about the incident. “Railway employees from Renukoot amd Chopan were sent to the spot for rescue work. The staff detached the bogies and took them towards Mahuli,” they said.

Sources said that senior railway officers along with accident assistance train from Dhanbad division and crane have reached the spot and efforts were being to bring the engine and the two bogies on track.
