Moscow: The European Union will hold an emergency summit on the Middle East conflict via videoconference on Tuesday.

Members of the European Council will discuss the latest escalation between Israel and Palestine in order to define a common position and outline a course of action that reflects the complexity of the situation.

The EU leaders are also expected to cover a number of secondary issues, including the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, engagement with regional actors to avoid further escalation and achieve a lasting peace, as well as the security implications for European countries and the risk of additional migration and refugees.
