New Delhi: It started with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), now, Indian Railways has decided to terminate its contract with Chinese companies working on their respective projects in India.

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has asked BSNL not to use Chinese telecom gear in its 4G upgradation. The entire tender will be reworked now.

Likewise the Indian Railways is to terminate the contract of the Chinese signalling company China Railway Signal and Communication (CRSC) Corp, in the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. CRSC had won the contract in 2016 to install signalling systems in over 400 km of railway lines. The project is valued at Rs 471 crore.

This is India’s answer to China for killing 20 Indian soldiers at the LAC in Ladakh.

Many more action by Indian government is expected in the days ahead while Indian citizens have already initiated a #BoycottChina products and services in India campaign.
