Govt to assist funding of CSMC New Water Supply Scheme: Fadnavis

Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday asserted that the state government is committed to provide financial assistance in order to ensure timely completion of the new water supply scheme which is important to the citizens of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

According to the official press statement issued last night stated that, a review meeting of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city water supply scheme was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis.

Bahujan Welfare Minister Atul Save, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, MLA Sanjay Shirsat, Urban Development Department Principal Secretary KH Govindaraj, Water Supply and Sanitation Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Khandare, Municipal Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar G. Shrikant among others were present.

Fadnavis said, many works have been completed from the funds received so far for the scheme and numerous works of jack wells, water purification projects, water bodies, water distribution systems, pipelines are being completed and the problems in the scheme will be removed by providing funds for the rest of the works immediately.

He further said that the state government will provide funds on loan basis to solve the problem of municipal share fund for the completion of the scheme.

He assured that a proposal will be submitted and a decision will be taken in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

Speaking on this occasion Minister Atul Save said, within two years, the works of the water supply scheme have been completed rapidly, many large water bodies have been completed and pipeline works have also been completed.

The remaining works will be completed immediately and priority will be given in water supply, he added.
