Una (HP): Himachal Pradesh is destined to stand on its feet and become a major pharma hub of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, but quickly added that this will be possible only if the BJP ruled the country and all states.

He said a provision of Rs 10,000 crores had been kept for the initial stage of the state’s development and this would go up to Rs 20,000 crores in coming years, thereby giving jobs to thousands of unemployed youths in the hill state.

The Prime Minister said this after flagging off the fourth Vande Bharat train — from Una to Delhi. He inspected the bogies and engines of the train. Thousands mobbed the Una railway station.

Modi greeted the crowds. The speed of this train will be 86 km per hour.

The Prime Minister also dedicated an IIIT campus and laid the foundation stone of the Huge Pharma hub for the Haroli area of Una district.

Union Information Minister Anurag Thakur and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur were present.

The Prime Minister said that development and the BJP were two faces of the same coin.

He hit out at the Congress for ignoring development during their rule. He said the Congress laid foundation stones of projects at the time of elections and then forgot to complete them.

Modi said the grant of one rank and one pension was not possible without the BJP in power.

Chief Minister Thakur said India was now a leading country in the world due to Modi’s leadership.
