Indian HC meets Sri Lankan President-elect Dissanayake

Colombo: Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha met with Sri Lankan President-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the National People’s Power office in Battaramulla.

The Indian High Commission in a post on ‘X, said that Jha ‘conveyed greetings from India’s leadership and congratulated him on winning the people’s mandate.”

The Indian High Commission also said that “India as Sri Lanka’s s civilisational twin is committed to further deepen ties for the prosperity of the people of our two countries”.

The meeting occurred following the Election Commission chairman’s announcement of Dissanayake being elected as the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
