Indian national arrested for alleged match-fixing in Sri-Lanka T10 league

Colombo: An Indian national, owner of the ‘Galle Marvels’ team in the Lanka T10 Super League, has been arrested by the Special Police Unit for alleged match-fixing, media reports said.

It was reported that the suspect offered money to a West Indian player participating in the Lanka T10 League in exchange for fixing a match, The Daily Mirror reported.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) lodged a formal complaint with the Special Police Unit, prompting an investigation.

A team from the unit travelled to Pallekele and arrested the Indian national in connection with the incident.
