Jalandhar: Team of over a dozen Income Tax sleuths on Tuesday conducted raid on the premises of Khambra Church and the residence of its head paster Ankur Narula.

The raid is said to be conducted in connection with the foreign transactions of the church.

The income tax authorities in three to four vehicles reached the church early in the morning amid heavy police security. Before the teams of the IT investigation reached the Church, heavy contingent of CRPF was deployed to check any untoward incident due to heavy rush of followers and the musclemen engaged by the church head Ankur Narula. The CRPF men not only closed the doors of the church and residential building of the head paster Narula but also barred the persons, family members, employees and the followers visiting the church for prayers and cures to enter or leave the location.

The IT sleuths have also confiscated certain documents.

The raid is still in progress.
