Jammu: Alert troops of Border Security Force have successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the International Border in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources here on Tuesday said that BSF troops on the intervening night of March 10-11 noticed a movement of suspects near Khora Post of Samba Sector.

“The troops fired a few rounds and foiled an infiltration attempt,” they said, adding that with the first light, senior BSF officials along with police reached the spot.

“A search operation has been launched in the area, and the troops have been put on high alert,” they said.

Notably, on March 8, the Director General of the Border Security Force, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, who was on a two-day visit to the Jammu Frontier border, reviewed the security scenario along the Line of Control in Poonch District and in the border areas of the Kathua District, wherein he reviewed the security situation on IB.
