Washington: New York Supreme Court judge Juan Merchan dismissed the jury in the so-called “hush money” case involving former US President Donald Trump after they failed to reach a decision during several hours of deliberation, NBC News reported.
Merchan dismissed the jury for the day and ordered them not to discuss the case or search for information about it, the report said on Wednesday.
The jury will resume deliberations on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Trump is accused of falsifying records related to an alleged hush-money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump denies the accusations and has condemned the case as a form of election interference amid the 2024 US presidential race.
Trump said that he thought the day went “very well,” in response to a question by reporters about his thoughts on the first day of jury deliberations in the case, following the conclusion of the court session
