Kashmir continues to reel under intense cold; Shopian shivers at minus 10.2°C

Srinagar : A frozen waterfall in Drung area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir The Kashmir Valley continues to reel under intense cold, with most regions recording sub-zero temperatures. Shopian emerged as the coldest in the valley at -10.2°C, while Anantnag followed closely at -9.0°C. Sonamarg recorded -7.1°C, and Pulwama experienced -8.4°C. Srinagar, the summer capital, saw the mercury drop to -6.0°C.

In the Jammu region, Banihal shivered at -1.9°C, while Jammu recorded a comparatively mild 5.1°C. Udhampur was close to freezing at 0.1°C, and Bhaderwah recorded -0.6°C.

The Ladakh region faced severe cold, with Kargil recording a bone-chilling -13.5°C and Leh at -11.2°C. Drass’s data remains unavailable, but the region is known for its freezing conditions during this time of year.
