Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Monday held a meeting on defense and security affairs, which, among other issues, focused on violation of North Korea’s sovereignty by South Korea, and listened to the report of the Chief of the General Staff on the plan of retaliatory military actions, North Korean state news agency KCNA reported on Tuesday.

The meeting heard a report from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate on a comprehensive analysis of “serious provocations against the sovereignty” of North Korea by “enemies.” The report also included a plan for retaliatory military action, presented by the chief of general staff, as well as measures to modernize military equipment. Additionally, the party secretary responsible for military industry reported on the results of arms production, while the state security minister provided information on the situation regarding information operations.

The KCNA reported that the North Korean leader reviewed the data presented in reports from various defense and security agencies, as well as opinions on appropriate measures. Kim Jong Un outlined a course of action for future military operations to protect county’s sovereignty and ensure security.

On Friday, North Korean Foreign Ministry accused South Korea of violating North Korea’s sovereignty by deploying drones over Pyongyang. South Korean officers denied sending drones to North Korea.
