LG inaugurates two hospitals for Amarnath Pilgrims at Baltal, Chandanwari

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated two 100-bedded makeshift state-of-the-art hospitals for Amarnath Pilgrims.

The two 100 bedded make shifted state-of-the-art bas hospitals built by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) were inaugurated at Baltal and Chandanwari.

The hospitals will help in providing better and round-the-clock healthcare facilities to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and to those engaged in Yatra management, the office of the LG said in a series of tweets.

The annual 62-day-long Amarnath Yatra begins on July 1 from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“J&K Govt has laid great emphasis on healthcare of Pilgrims & local community involved for arrangements of pilgrimage. I urge doctors & nursing staff to serve the people with compassion. I also wish the pilgrims & entire management team health, happiness and prosperity”, a tweet said.

“Grateful to PM Narendra Modi Ji & Ministry of Health for providing all necessary resources for hospitals. Directed health officials to prepare a proposal for permanent hospitals at Baltal & Chandanwari and soon base camps will have sustainable healthcare facilities”, another tweet reads.
