New Delhi: Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda on Tuesday said that the Congress party believes in the ideology that “lord Ram is for everyone and lord Ram is in
everyone”.

Addressing a media briefing at the AICC Headquarters here, Hooda said, “I come from a state where we start our day with the name of lord Ram. Lord Ram belongs to all and everyone has faith in Lord Ram”.

The Congress leader said that on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Congress leaders had gone to Ayodhya to seek the blessings of Lord Ram. Adding that he was not visiting Ayodhya for the first time. Last year too, he had visited Ayodhya and the Ram temple.

“We took a holy dip in the Sarayu river and also prayed for peace in the universe, “ Hooda said.

It may be mentioned that on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on Monday, Hooda, Supriya Srinate and several Congress leaders from Uttar Pradesh unit had reached Ayodhya and took a dip in the Sarayu river and also offered prayers to Ram Lalla.

He said the Congress will launch the ‘Ghar-Ghar Congress’ campaign in Haryana and he prayed to lord Ram and sought his blessings for that.

The Rajya Sabha MP said that the Congress party has respect for all faiths and believes that all have the right to practice their own religion.

When asked about the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) starting the recitation of ‘Sunderkand Path’, Hooda said that AAP is an alliance partner, and why will Congress have any problem with their decision.

“In India every party has right to practice and perform religious rituals. Why we should have any issue? We are happy,” Hooda said.
