LS polls: BJP’s Pralhad Joshi secures 5th consecutive win in Dharwad

Bengaluru: In a political showdown that captured the attention of Dharwad district, the BJP reinforced its dominance as Union Minister Pralhad Joshi clinched a remarkable fifth consecutive term as the MP for the constituency.

Joshi’s victory, which saw him triumph over his Congress rival Vinod Asuti by an impressive margin exceeding 80,000 votes, solidified his standing in the constituency.

The suspense of the election was briefly heightened by the unexpected entry of Independent candidate Fakir Dingaleshwar Swami, who initially vowed to challenge Joshi’s reign. However, the situation took a turn when the Dingaleshwar seer withdrew his candidacy, throwing his support behind the Congress nominee.

Amidst the political drama, BJP supporters wasted no time in sparking jubilant celebrations near the Agriculture University in Dharwad, marking the continuation of their political supremacy in the region.
