Mah. Govt. released above Rs 177 cr as compensation to rain affected farmers

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has distributed funds amounting to of Rs 177 crores 80 lakhs and 61 thousand to the districts for extending compensation to farmers who suffered losses due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm in the month of March.

An official press statement stated that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had directed the administration in this regard to provide immediate relief to the affected farmers.

According to this, the government decision to distribute the funds was issued yesterday.

Under this, according to the revenue department, the highest amount of Rs.84 crore 75 lakh and 19 thousand rupees has been distributed for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division followed by Rs

63 crore 9 lakh and 77 thousand for Nashik division, Rs 24 crore 57 lakh 95 thousand for Amravati division, and Rs 5 crore 37 lakh 70 thousand for Pune division has been distributed.

While Shinde has also instructed during his Nashik visit to affected areas on Monday to immediately submit panchnama of crops damaged due to unseasonal rain and hail.

He said that the government is on the side of the farmers and a decision regarding the assistance will be taken soon in the cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, Shinde will inspect the damage caused by unseasonal rain in Dharashiv district today.

He will visit the villages of Dharur and Wadi Bamni in Dharashiv taluka. The preliminary estimate is that due to the recent unseasonal rains, crops have been damaged in an area of ​​2,571 hectares in this district.

While state Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that crops on 7,400 hectares have been damaged due to unseasonal rains in the state, and the farmers will be given immediate help in this regard and said that the government stands firmly behind the victims of the disaster.
