Mumbai: Lauding the richness of India’s ancient healing system, Union Minister of Ayush
Sarbananda Sonowal has reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts of reviving the profound knowledge of the country’s ancient systems of medicine and ensuring the optimal development and propagation of the Ayush systems of healthcare.

He was speaking at the regional review meeting on National Ayush Mission for six states / UTs, organised in Mumbai on Monday, a press release said here.

Talking about National Ayush Mission as the flagship programme of the Ministry of Ayush, he said, “National Ayush Mission (NAM) is being implemented with the vision and objectives to provide Ayush healthcare services throughout the country by strengthening and improving Ayush healthcare facilities, to provide informed choice to the needy public.”

Highlighting the importance of making Ayush available for all, Sonowal said, “It is a shared responsibility to channelise the support offered to states / UTs through National Ayush Mission to make this healthcare system available at grass-root level through Jan Bhagidari.”
