Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday expressed heartfelt congratulations and conveyed her best wishes to Justice T S Sivagnanam, who was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.
Governor C V Ananda Bose administered the oath of office to Justice T S Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.
Attending the swearing-in ceremony, Banerjee said, ” It was an honour to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Hon’ble Shri Justice T.S. Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of the High Court at Calcutta. ”
” I express my heartfelt congratulations and convey my best wishes to him for this new beginning, ” she added.
Describing the Judiciary as the custodian of the Constitution, the Chief Minister opined, ” The Judiciary is of utmost importance in preserving democracy, maintaining freedom of speech, and restoring peace. ”
” We have the highest regard for our judiciary, and I extend my warm regards for their invaluable contributions towards upholding the Rule of Law and ensuring justice for people, ” Banerjee iterated.
