Mamata remembers freedom fighters on the anniversary of ‘Bharat Chhodo Andolan’

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday paid homage to everyone, who had given everything for the freedom of this great country, on the anniversary of ‘Bharat Chhodo Andolan’.

Taking to twitter handle, Banerjee said, ” Today, on the anniversary of ‘Bharat Chhodo Andolan’, I pay my homage to everyone who had given everything for the freedom of this great country. ”

Calling for upholding their great ideals of harmony and humanity to ensure a healthy, beautiful, promising, united, tolerant, strong India in the future, she iterated that the idea of India should not die.

” We remember and honour the brave individuals, who participated in the Freedom movement. This is a historic chapter in India’s struggle for Independence. This movement strengthened India’s resolve and paved the way for our eventual Independence in 1947, ” she stated.
