More than 26 children abused every month: Goa Police Victim Assistance Unit

Panjim: The Goa Police Victim Assistance Unit (VAU) has revealed that more than twenty-six children are abused every month in Goa. 

The VAU report conducted for the period March 2018 to February 2020 stated that 635 children mostly between the age group of 11 years to 15 years have been victims of child abuse.

Shocking details reveal that nearly 25 per cent of the 635 cases have been sexual offences. And of the victims, 72.3 per cent were girls and 27.7 per cent boys.
