Ornaments and cash worth Rs 16 lakh looted from SBI Chakai branch

Jamui: Some criminals laced with firearms looted ornaments and cash worth Rs 16 lakh from Chakai branch of State Bank of India under Chakai police station here on Tuesday.

According to police, five criminals entered the bank as customers at 10:00 a.m. and took the employees in their captive at gun points. The criminals lootate Rs 4 lakhs in cash and ornaments worth Rs 12 lakh and fled away.

The police said that the criminals finished their operation within 20 minutes and sped away towards Giridih of Jharkhand by motorcycle.

Senior officers have reached the spot. Investigations were going on. Massive manhunt was on to nab the criminals.
