New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated new Nepalese PM KP Sharma Oli on taking over the government reins and said he looks forward to working closely to further boost the bilateral ties.

In a post on X, the PM said:

“Congratulations @kpsharmaoli on your appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal. Look forward to working closely to further strengthen the deep bonds of friendship between our two countries and to further expand our mutually beneficial cooperation for the progress and prosperity of our peoples.”

Earlier, the CPN-UML chief KP Sharma Oli was on Monday sworn in as the prime minister of Nepal at a special function in Kathmandu. This is Oli’s fourth stint as the country’s chief executive.

Oli became the new Nepal Prime Minister after forging an alliance with the Nepali Congress and withdrawing support to the government led by Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
