Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadanvis on Monday instructed the Health department to prepare grading system to get benefits for jobs to those who were working on contractual medical services during the Covid period.

Since last two and a half years, many people have provided health services on contract basis in the health sector in the state during the Covid period.

This also includes Medical Assistants, Asha, Anganwadi workers and other medical staff.

These employees have sacrificed their lives during the Covid period. CM and Dy CM today directed that the Chief Secretary should decide the procedure for evaluating the performance of health workers who have performed these contractual services at the time of recruitment in public health.

Monday’s cabinet meeting, it was also decided that such a procedure should be fixed at the earliest so that such employees can benefit from it at the time of recruitment and subject to the existing recruitment eligibility.
