Gwalior: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commenced her Madhya Pradesh visit on Friday by offering floral tributes at the samadhi of Rani Lakshmibai here.

The visiting leader was flanked by the party’s state President and erstwhile chief minister Kamal Nath besides the Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition Govind Singh. Mrs Vadra performed parikrama (circumambulation) of the memorial. Subsequently, she departed for the venue of the Jan Aakrosh Maha Rally.

Earlier, she arrived by a special plane and was welcomed at the airport by Mr Nath and other leaders.

In June, Mrs Vadra performed Narmada aarti at Jabalpur and addressed a public meeting in that city, which is the largest in Mahakoshal region.

Of the 230 Assembly seats in election-bound Madhya Pradesh, 34 are occupied by representatives from Gwalior and Chambal divisions.
