Addressing a press conference here on Friday Smartana Patil, DCP zone 2, said the accused first attacked journalist Harshad Kataria working with Marathi Daily on May 27 with Koyta ( sickle) and threw chilli powder in his eyes, but Kataria managed to escape from the spot.

Again on June 11, two unidentified persons on bikes approached journalist and opened fire at him when he was driving his two-wheeler near Atithi Hotel situated at Pune Satara road.
