Rae Bareli (UP): Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived here on Tuesday on a one-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli.
Party’s district president Pankaj Tiwari said that Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi will first meet the family members of martyr Anshuman Singh and will leave for Delhi at 5 pm after meeting various delegations.
According to the information, Rahul was earlier scheduled to come to Fursatganj airport but due to some reasons he has reached Rae Bareli by road from Lucknow.
It may be noted that this is Rahul Gandhi’s second visit after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli on June 4. Earlier, he along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi and Amethi’s newly elected MP Kishori Lal Sharma has participated in a meeting to express gratitude to the public and workers.
Rae Bareli Amethi is seen as the stronghold of Congress. This Lok Sabha seat is also seen as the traditional seat of the Gandhi family.
