Raut penned letter to Dy Cm demands fair investigation in Warise case

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) faction Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday raised the issue of murder of Ratnagiri journalist Shashikant Warishe.

Mr Raut in his letter penned to Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on this issue also public on Twitter. In this, he has demanded a fair investigation in the matter. It has been requested that he himself supervise the investigation in this matter.

Actually 48 years old Warishe used to work in a Marathi newspaper.

On Monday, Warishe’s bike was hit by an SUV car near a petrol pump at Rajapur in Ratnagiri district.

He was seriously injured in this. He died the next day in the hospital. It is alleged that Pandharinath Amberkar was driving this vehicle.

After his death Marathi Patrakar Parishad among others organisation carried agitation across the state and demanded stren action against Amberkar.

Meanwhile,Ratnagiri district administration was registered case against him under the section of 4 of Anti-Assault on Journalist Act and sent him to police custody.

The construction of the Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemical Project at Nanar has been a political issue for a long time. The project is said to have been shelved by the then government before the 2019 elections. But now the plan to start it again is under discussion.

A union minister had announced last year that the world’s largest refinery with a capacity of 6 crores million metric would be commissioned soon.
