SFs arrest JKGF terror associate with explosives, ammunition in Poonch

Jammu: Security forces have arrested one terror associate of Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) outfit with explosives and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The police spokesman here on Friday said that on Thursday evening a joint naka of police and army with CRPF was laid at Potha bypass, and during search the security personnel noticed a person coming from Surankote in a suspicious manner.

“On seeing the security forces, he tried to escape, but the alert forces apprehended him,” said the spokesman, adding that during the search, a bag containing three hand grenades, explosive substances, and other incriminating material was recovered from his possession.

Preliminary investigation established his identity as Mohd Shabir, a resident of Daryala Nowshera who is in touch with a POK handler, namely Azim Khan alias Mudeer, who directed him to collect this consignment from Surankot town.

Police have taken cognisance, and more arrests are expected.
