Shanthi Homam performed at Tirumala temple following Laddu prasadam incident

Tirumala: In response to the use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of Laddu Prasadam, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducted a Shanthi Homam at the Tirumala temple on Monday.

The ritual began at 0600 hours during the Rohini Nakshatram and is expected to conclude at 1000 hours with the Poornahuti, temple sources said.

The ceremony commenced with the Shanti Yagam and Vastu Homam, and concluded with priests performing Samprokshanam using Panchagavyas.

Agama Pandits determined that the ritual would be completed in a single day to avoid interference with the daily services offered to the Lord.
