Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh High court on Tuesday granted interim bail to former AP Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in Skill Development case.
The bail has been granted to Naidu on his health grounds for a period of four weeks (until November 28).
In its 16-page bail order, the court ordered Naidu to furnish Rs one lakh with two securities along with four other conditions, including providing the details of the medical treatment and surrendering himself (Naidu) before the superintendent, central prison, Rajamahindravaram, on or before November 28 at 1700 hours.
The Court also permitted Naidu to get himself examined or treated at a hospital of his choice at his own expense.
The 74-year-old Naidu was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in connection with the multi-crore skill development scam case.
He was in Rajahmundry Central Jail for the last 52 days in this case, and he is likely to be released by this evening after fulfilling all formalities as per the conditional bail granted by the High Court.
The High Court had previously dismissed several bail pleas filed by the TDP chief.
However, in this instance, the court has granted interim bail to Naidu from a humanitarian perspective, considering Naidu’s health conditions and undergoing the required surgery on his right eye.
The court also ordered Naidu to seek treatment at the same hospital where he had surgery for his left eye earlier.
