Panaji: Goa State Committee will take a decision with regards to contesting Lok Sabha elections from the coastal state, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Women’s Wing President and Member of Parliament Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said on Thursday.

”State Committee will decide on contesting Lok Sabha elections from Goa. First of all we have work for the people of Goa,” she said while addressing a press conference at the party office in the city.

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government, she alleged that there was no governance in the state at all.

”There is no governance, no women empowerment nor employment. In Goa rape has become order of the day. People of Goa deserve more than what they are getting now. We want people of Goa to experience the development which people of West Bengal are experiencing,” she said.

Speaking on Congress MLAs joining BJP, she said it was betrayal of the people’s mandate.

”Congress MLAs have betrayed people by joining the ruling party and we had warned the people against it,” she said.

TMC had contested Goa assembly elections held in February this year in alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) but could not win any seat.
