Milwaukee: Former US President Donald Trump took the stage in front of delegates at the Republican National Convention, which is his first appearance since the assassination attempt, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

Trump’s ear is bandaged, the correspondent added.

The former president took a front row seat among the guests of honor along with his running mate in the presidential race James David Vance, US House Speaker Mike Johnson and US journalist Tucker Carlson, the correspondent reported.

On Saturday, a gunman attempted to assassinate Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, shooting the former president in the right ear, killing one rally attendee and wounding two others.
