Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director, V C Sajjar, on Friday announced the diversion of regular bus services between Hyderabad and Vijayawada following the increase in water levels of the Munneru River.

In a tweet, he informed the public about the ongoing floods on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway. The situation has led to a standstill in traffic at Aitavaram, near Keesara Tollgate in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, due to the continuous rise in the Munneru river’s water levels.

To ensure passenger safety, TSRTC has cancelled the regular services on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route. Instead, buses will now operate from Hyderabad to Vijayawada via Miryalaguda, Piduguralla, and Guntur. Departures from MGBS, Hyderabad, on this alternative route will be available every half hour.

Passengers can avail themselves of this facility and obtain more information by contacting the TSRTC call centre at the following numbers: 040-69440000 and 040-23450033.
