London: Commenting on the decision of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to hold a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that he did not plan to talk to the Russian leader.

On Friday, the Kremlin and Berlin reported a phone conversation between Scholz and Putin. It took place at the initiative of the German side.

“It’s a matter for Chancellor Scholz who he speaks to. I have no plans to speak to Putin,” Starmer told the Sky News broadcaster.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the phone conversation between Putin and Scholz had been businesslike, detailed and very frank.
