Kyiv: Ukrainian forces utilized four NATO-standard 155-millimeter munitions to target the city of Gorlovka (Horlivka) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) overnight on Wednesday, according to the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) on Ukraine’s war crimes.
“At 00:00 local time [22:00 GMT], there was a recorded strike by Ukrainian armed groups using two 155-millimeter munitions on the village of Plesceevka (also known as Pleshchiivka). At 4:20, a strike involving two 155-millimeter munitions was recorded in the settlement of Dileevka [also known as Dyliivka],” the office said on Telegram.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk and is home to the Stirol chemical plant and coal mining enterprises. Prior to the start of the conflict in Donbas, it was one of the largest populated areas in the DPR, with a population exceeding 250,000 residents.
