Unidentified plane crashes in Punjab’s Bathinda, one killed, nine injured

Chandigarh: An unidentified plane crashed in Bathinda killing one person and injuring
9 others, sources said on Wednesday.

Sources said the plane crashed around past midnight into wheat fields of Akilan Kalan village of the district in which a farm labourer, originally from Charkhi Dadri of Haryana, was killed and nine others sustained injuries.

Local authorities remained tight-lipped about the identity of the aircraft and maintained that the defence officials would be able to shed some light.

Local police have sealed the area. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals.
