Vehicles to run at 100-120 KMPH on Amritsar-Jamnagar expressway

The second-longest green corridor of the country will be spanning from Punjab’s Amritsar to Gujarat’s Jamnagar. 70% work of this 1257 KM long expressway has been completed. Most of the work on the 637 KM expanse in Rajasthan has also been completed. Following the completion of this green-corridor, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat will get directly get connected. Currently, this distance takes 28 hours to be travelled, and after this six-lane starts operating, it will get reduced by 13 hours to 15 hours only.

The speed of the vehicles running on this expressway will be 100-120 KMPH. It is noteworthy that with the completion of this highway, the distance will also get reduced by 200 KM. The project is expected to be completed by September 2023. 26 interchanges are being made on this expressway, and proposal to construct a helipad has also been made.

The Amritsar-Jamnagar expressway begins from the Tibba village in Punjab’s Kapurthala district. This expressway, which also connects Amritsar to Delhi, Jammu and Katra, is being made in 8 phases. 30 development packages have been allocated for this project. In the present, the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar is 1450 KMs, which takes 28 hours to travel, and with this expressway, the distance will get reduced by 200 KMs and will then be 1247 KMs.
