Chennai: Lt General Upendra Dwivedi, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), visited the Headquarters of the Dakshin Bharat (DB) Area of Indian Army, Chennai.

During his visit on Tuesday, the Vice Chief was briefed by General Officer Commanding (GOC)-Dakshin Bharat (DB) Area, Lt Gen KS Brar, on the initiatives taken and challenges faced by the Military Area.

GOC-DB Area also briefed about the transformational initiatives undertaken by the Headquarters.

The Vice Chief appreciated the initiatives and stressed on digitisation and innovative startup initiatives to be embraced to bring about quantum leap in the Indian Army of the future, a defence release said.
