Bengaluru: Veteran BJP leader BS Yediyurappa has clarified that Union Minister Pralhad Joshi had no role in his removal from the Chief Minister’s post. He made this statement following allegations made by Lingayat seer Dingaleshwar Swamiji.
“Pralhad Joshi had no role in it. Under no circumstances will Joshi’s ticket be replaced,” he told reporters.
Lingayat seer Dingaleshwar Swamiji has alleged that Joshi was behind asking Yediyurappa to step down from the post of Chief Minister in 2021.
Yediyurappa also emphasised that there is no dissent within the Karnataka BJP. He also mentioned that he has resolved differences of opinion in Davanagere and quelled opposition to Jagadish Shettar’s candidacy for Belagavi.
He stated that discussions with former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa are ongoing and indicated confidence that issues will be resolved soon. Eshwarappa has announced contesting as an independent candidate against the BJP in Shivamogga parliamentary constituency.
Yediyurappa acknowledged former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda as a significant political force and expressed his intention to campaign with him.
He also expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming elections, asserting that the party’s tickets are finalised for all other seats and predicting victory in all 28 MP seats due to an alleged anti-Congress sentiment in the state.
