New Delhi: Highlighting the initiatives undertaken by the central government over the last 10 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday noted that these efforts have bolstered the self-confidence of the youth, who are now eager to take giant leaps.

Addressing the nation on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, the Prime Minister said, “The youth of the country do not believe in incremental progress and are eager to take giant leaps. Today, our youth want to achieve new heights by taking bold strides.”

“Remember, this is a golden era for India. Let’s seize this opportunity,” the PM added, noting that since independence, the youth has been waiting for a change, waiting for someone to pay heed to their expectations and aspirations.

“We wanted to fill them with confidence. They gave us a chance and we brought big reforms. They don’t want incremental changes, they want to leap for growth,” the Prime Minister said.

He highlighted that in the latest Budget his government has made a huge provision with huge schemes to promote natural farming.

“Today, if any food basket of organic food can be created for the world, then it can be my country, which can be made by our farmers,” the PM said emphasising that transforming the agricultural system is the need of the hour and it is also very important.

“We are also providing help to our farmers for this. We are providing easy loans to farmers, helping them with technology, and we are also doing the work of value addition of the produce that the farmers produce,” he said.

“40 crore people successfully achieved the dream of our independence. Imagine the potential of 140 crore people united with determination,” PM Modi said noting that together “we can overcome any obstacle, no matter how big and challenging it is, and create a prosperous India”.

The Prime Minister urged everyone to march forward, step by step to make the vision of Vikshit Bharat 2047 a reality.
